Motu (Inap)proprio

Amy Welborn has written a short response that gets right to the heart of what bothers me about the Motu Proprio.

As an addendum from me, a note on lay people criticizing papal decisions:

The holiness of the Church has always been the holiness of Christ, not the righteousness or good judgment of bishops. We lay people must continue to do our part to help our ecclesia semper reformanda "be perfect even as your Heavenly Father is perfect" - in this case, by speaking up against the inconsistent pastoral approach of a pope who made space for Pachamama but not for the Mass as celebrated by saints he has canonized.

St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us

that we might speak prophetic words to our shepherds,

and that we might spend ourselves wholly

for Jesus, whom we meet

in the Eucharist (EF or NO or Maronite...)

and in the distressing disguise of the poor (and the "rigid").
